Current mood: devious

It can always be worse
And, to prove that, time to twiddle with continuity!
(No actual archives were harmed in the following experiment.)

(Concept Space, Interior. It's empty save for the cage the Authoress has made for herself and a set of modest furnishings within said cage. Oh, yeah, and the really, really, really long tapestry depicting Ijishi's history stretching out into the darkness.)

*taps chin* Letsee, now. First, I need a suitable substitute to be Chatty's so-called "Number One Adversary". *snaps fingers* Hey, didn't Chatty say something about a Piper or something? She'd be perfect, and only with a few edits!

(The Authoress gets up and starts to pace.)

But first, she needs a better motive for crashing into the story other than boredom. *ponders momentarily* As boring as the old Revenge angle is, it's just about the only one that would work. *beat* Well, Really Disturbed Stalker would fit, too, but I'd rather not go there.

(She blinks as a piece of paper materializes in her hand, then smiles as she reads the note.)

Ah, good, Chatty approves of the "Piper is Pico Johnson's sister" suggestion. And having Piper's powers tentatively defined as Mind Control makes this work out quite nicely.

(The tapestry begins to unravel all the way back to the Authoress' first entrance into the story, when Velvet "kidnaps" her for study.)

Hrm. The most convenient thing to do, other than cutting out this whole portion, is to say that Piper was impersonating me at the time because she caught wind of my plan to crash the storyline. And then she endears everybody so much that there's not much of an outrage when she reveals her true self. And I could say that at this point, all my cameos also defect to Piper, turning them into her minions.

(The tapestry is rewoven with the new configuarions through the Color Wars. The Authoress pauses to consider changes to the Mirror Wars arc.)

Ah, yes, the NGC "invasion", and ensuing reunification. Well, I don't mind playing the villain, so Evil Dot can stay. And then the Keys of Hell thread is basically not a problem, either, although I might say that Chatty was the one who freed Vocal, hoping to recruit him as an ally against Piper.

(The Authoress pauses again on the [Snow] arc and frowns.)

Now, how the heck to explain this? *long pause, sighs* I guess this has to be another Evil Dot initiative.

(The rest of the storyline is quickly replaced, the substitution made much easier by the earlier adjustments.)

Okay, so now Piper's the Protector of Ijishi, naturally making Chatty the Primary Evil. And I guess I'm the Secondary Evil that got vanquished, or something. *sighs, sits onto the bed* Argh, this is too tiring. The other RLs can pick their own sides.

What, you thought I was actually going to rehash everything? ;p
