Longer stuff this time

Reliance/Defiance Stuff, Ask Chatty for Details:
1. Long, long ago, Dives saved Roisin's life.
2. Roisin felt obligated to do whatever Dives asked.
3. Dives took advantage of Roisin's sense of duty and seduced her.
4. The Black Plague hit, and Dives gave his soul to Nemesis in exchange for his life.
5. Then Dives really began torturning Roisin.

Ijishi Backstory Stuff, Read it Yourself for Details:
1. Dives tried to defy Nemesis during his/her/its invasion of Ijishi.
2. Nemesis, being evil, merely killed Dives and continued the invasion.
3. Dot, being only quasi-evil, resurrected Dives.
4. This did not make Roisin very happy, especially not with her (and Dives') child on the way.
5. Dot, after scaring the bejeezus out of everyone, assists with the birth.
6. Dives and Roisin are now co-existing in a state of awkwardness.
7. It doesn't help that Roisin and Rufus Shinra are somewhat interested in each other.


And now that we've got that stuff out of the way...


(The Bar. It's a little quiet nowadays, but the usual group of patrons are still gathered in their various cliques. It therefore comes as a surprise when the door opens, causing the bell on it to ring brightly.)

Jenova (perks): A customer! Oh, do come in and-- (freezes)

(The entire Bar goes deathly quiet as the Authoress shuffles in, dragging her wings behind her. They are still half white, half black, but it's all gotten mixed up in odd-shaped patches, giving them an almost cow-like appearance.)

*listlessly* What, never seen an RL with a severe case of indecision before?

(She begins to walk in Roisin's direction, and naturally she is not at all pleased about this.)

Roisin (holding Dante protectively): What do you want?

*points behind Roisin* You. Outside. Talk.

(In a blatant imitation of a certain scene from _Spirited Away_, Dives--who had been lurking behind Roisin without her knowledge--is yanked forward by an invisible hand and shoved out the door before he can so much make an "eep". The Authoress follows shortly.)

(Outside...)

Dives (slightly out of breath): What--what was that for?

*sits down on an invisible stool and crosses her legs* I'm an impatient RL, Dives. I've pracitcally thrown you into Roisin's lap, and you haven't done a thing. If you don't love her, just tell me already and I can get you matched up with someone else!

Dives (looks at his feet): I--I--

*somewhat annoyed* Come now, Dives, it can't all be that crushing guilt which moves you to feeling obligated towards her.

Dives (completely ashamed): ......

*sighs* You're even more indecisive than I am. *stands up* Fine, then. I shall devise... *smiles slightly* A test.

Dives (looks up in alarm): What?

(But all Dives sees is a blinding light.)

(Back in the bar, all the patrons cringe as the Authoress walks back in with Dives walking in behind her.)

*listlessly* Ne, Jenova?

Jenova (forced smile): Yes?

*gestures with her thumb* Got an opening for a busboy?

(Roisin gasps as she sees Dives. The expression on his face is exactly the same as when she first met him: slightly jaded, a little mischievous, but still soft, a touch naive, and perhaps even...kind.)

Dives (a bit awkwardly): Um, I'm not good at anything in particular, but I'm a hard worker. You don't even have to pay me much. (bows) Dozo yoroshiku onegaishimasu!

Jenova (sweatdrops): Well, um, I guess I could use the extra help, Tifa and Aerith being a bit occupied and all...

*as above* You're a such a sweety. *to Dives* There. Wasn't as hard as you thought it was, hm?

Dives (shyly): I...I guess...

*smiles slightly* Haha, cute. *darkly* Don't get yourself kicked out of this one, okay? There aren't many other places I can get work for someone like you.

Dives (looks to the floor): Yes'm.

*bored* That's a good boy.

(And then, with a "pop", the Authoress vanishes.)



Ack, getting into mega-postage length. I think I'll play catch-up with Velvet and Mira next time...

(And for those of you who haven't figured it out yet, I just mindwiped Dives so that he doesn't remember anything of Roisin, Nemesis, etc. And I'm only telling you because I'm waiting to be monkey wrenched, hint hint. :)
