Double post~! Ooh, I'm wicked.

*In an abandoned building, not very far from the remains of great devestation, sits an unrecognizable bundle of dirty, bloodied rags that seem to have once were some kind of military uniform; the colour is now unrecognizable. Out of the figure's back are two pair of large, bruised wings with bright red feathers, shielding the figure and the bundle it huddles over...*

Refrain: *cradling the egg* I'm sorry that's there's no fire, ko-chan. I think I lost my lighter... and there's nothing to burn, anyway.

*A pause.*

Refrain: ...heh. *wistful* You know, it was snowing when I first met Aria. I heard her singing between the bare trees, over the fresh snows... and I forgot everything else. Just for her.

*An embarassed cough.*

Refrain: Well, that just goes to show that sirens really do exist.

*Pause. Shiver.*

Refrain: Then again... I don't know, maybe that's making matters too simple. If I'd never met her, or if I'd resisted her, I'd never have had my children. Well, I mean... I might have had children... but they would have been different...

*He cuddles the egg closer.*

Refrain: I'm sorry for what I've done to you... but I'm not sorry to have been your father. Even if I was a lousy one.

*Long pause.*

Refrain: ...that didn't even make any sense. Hypothermia is making me talk gibberish. =_=

*Shiver.*

Refrain: I wish Opera was here. He had fur.

*BLINK.*

Refrain: ...I didn't just say that. I didn't.

*The egg, of course, has no reply.*

*In a room above the bar, in the room next to Roisin's, sits a black-haired man in a black suit, with large, shining brown eyes.*

*They are currently shining from puddly tears.*

*He has in one hand, a book, which he is flipping through furiously. He pauses and stares at a page, brows furrowed in frustration.*

*He doesn't seem to realize that the book is upside-down.*

*...or maybe that's the problem.*

Dives: *thinking* I... don't have Ravenal's memories...

*He closes the book and tosses it aside.*

Dives: *thinking* I never learned to read. Never had the chance... and when Ravenal joined the Triumvirate, I didn't have to. I just dipped into her memories, and there it was. English, French, Latin... all the schooling I didn't have.

*He squints his eyes, looking dangerously close to actually crying.*

Dives: *thinking*And now I've forgotten it. I'm an ignorant pig again.

*He wanders off towards a bathroom and hovers over the sink.*

Dives: *thinking* Am I going to forget everything I learned from the other members?

*He turns on a faucet and splashes some water up onto his face.*

Dives: *thinking* Am I going to be exactly what I was before? I--

*He stops, hunched over the sink and the still-running faucet, staring at water pouring down the drain.*

*His eyes widen with horror.*

Dives: Oh God... I couldn't... I couldn't forget that, could I? Not that memory...

*He stands up and walks away from the sink, distracted enough to not even notice that he's left the water running.*

Dives: I can't forget that... I'll be a.. a beast if I forget that...

*He snatches a pen off a counter and tries to write on the wall-- one word... two words...*

*Both look like total gibberish. And he knows it.*

*He finally shudders a sob and collapses against the wall.*

Dives: *crying* ....Roisin...
